Joe went to his monthly appointment with his Kidney doctor this week. A few weeks ago he had swollen up so bad he had to go in for a special appointment. His sugar levels were out of control. This week, his levels have returned to normal. We are grateful for this news as many of his family members have diabetes and we are just not ready to face that right now.
However, all the pills (and he is taking a lot of them) are not working on keeping his kidneys in check. He is still having swelling. The doctor is giving him 2 more months on his current pills (transplant meds) and then he moves Joe to chemo meds. The doctor has warned us that the chemo meds would zap his energy and make him lose his hair. I don't care about the hair, so much, but the energy thing will be hard on us both.
I can't tell you how happy we are that we have insurance and a doctor nearby to see Joe. Thank you Lord.
